Cookie statement
Which cookies and preferences this site stores, and how to manage your choices.
Last updated: 12 September 2026
The short version
Until you accept analytics, this site stores two things on your device: your light-or-dark preference and your answer to the cookie question. Neither identifies you and neither leaves your browser. Nothing is sent to Google unless you press accept.
Your current choice
Analytics: not answered yet.
This clears the decision and any analytics cookies, and asks again. Withdrawing is as easy as accepting, which is what Article 7(3) GDPR requires.
Always active
These are strictly necessary for the site to do what you asked of it. Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act exempts them from the consent requirement, and they are stored in your browser rather than sent anywhere.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
theme |
Local storage | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark version. | Until you clear it |
bit-consent |
Local storage | Remembers your answer to the question below, so you are not asked again on every page. | Until you clear it |
Only with your consent
Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages get read and how people find the site. It is off by default. The Google script is not downloaded and these cookies do not exist until you press accept — declining means no request to Google is ever made.
| Name | Party | Purpose | Expires |

_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another. | 2 years |
_ga_WX13JK70ZQ |
Google Analytics | Keeps the state of the current visit. | 2 years |
We have IP anonymisation switched on, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising: ad storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are all explicitly denied, whatever you choose here.
Third-party embeds
Some pages link to a video hosted on YouTube. The video is not loaded until you press play, so YouTube sets nothing on your device unless you ask for it. When you do, YouTube's own cookies apply and are covered by Google's privacy policy.
Blocking cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, whatever you choose on this site. If you clear your browser storage, the preferences above disappear with it and this site will ask again.
More
The privacy statement covers the rest: what we do with the data, on what legal basis, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights.
